HandsHomeowners often ask what makes our company different from a traditional General Contractor.

This is the first in a series of blog posts highlighting the benefits of choosing the Design-Build process over the customary Design-Bid-Build approach to home renovations.

The main advantage to hiring a Design-Build firm is a single point of contact between the homeowners and the builder. Coordinating each professional needed for a kitchen renovation, bathroom upfit and/ or home addition can be overwhelming.  There are many trades involved in any home renovation: architects, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, masons and roofers, just to name a few.  Some homeowners also employ interior decorators, landscapers, swimming pool contractors and companies providing “energy audits” to ensure a home is as  green and efficient as possible.  Project managers and crew supervisors are also needed on site to ensure each aspect of the job is done correctly and efficiently.

As one team working together, a Design-Build firm easily communicates and coordinates with the clients during the entire construction project.  Every detail regarding space planning, product selection, scheduling, building,  and installation is the sole responsibility of the builder.
